“A once in a lifetime experience.”
A once in a lifetime experience. Did the boat tour with kayak launch from the boat. The boat goes out from munsing bay and then out to lake superior for a 45 minute boat ride. Then you get into your 2 person sea kayak and paddle leisurely for about 2 hours covering around 5 miles of the picture rock landscape. Some little inlets that you can get your kayak into as well as a large portal to go through.

Literally cannot say enough good things
Literally the most fun I’ve had on a vacation. My husband and I planned our whole honeymoon around this kayak tour and we have zero regrets. We got to see a dozen beautiful landmarks along the pictured rocks shoreline, we were literally close enough to reach out and touch the rock. It was an unforgettable experience.
Our tour guide, Bobby, was awesome. I’d never been kayaking before and I was really apprehensive going into it, but Bobby was very patient with our group and super helpful. He knew a lot about the area and even took a few candid photos of me and my husband that he was able to share with us later. I’m really glad we got to spend the afternoon with him.
Our tour was scheduled for Wednesday, May 29th but weather conditions were bad and our captain didn’t think it was safe to send us out on the tour. Pictured rocks kayaking was super nice about offering a reschedule or refund for everyone on the boat. They even scheduled another departure time especially for us the next day. It was really well handled and refreshing to see how highly our safety was prioritized.

Best Kayak Tour of Pictured Rocks
We were so glad that we booked with this company and that we chose to do the Ultimate Kayak Tour. Unlike other companies, the boat stays with you the entire time. You can get on and off the boat for any reason, even if it is just to go to the bathroom. We felt so safe and well taken care of. The boat captain and all the guides were fantastic and really focused on safety. Our guide Zach was super nice and friendly.
“He didn’t want to stop”
It was my 10 year old’s first time kayaking and he was pretty nervous. Our tour guide, Bobby, was so helpful and nice. My little guy told me he didn’t want to stop and wanted to come back again! The crew and the tour were great, definitely will be returning for the Miners Castle Tour when it is warmer!
An Absolute Must – Even for Beginning Kayakers
This is a must for seeing picured rocks! The crew are professional and knowledgeable. Even a beginner kayaker will be able to enjoy Pictured Rocks. It is a lot of fun and the pace is perfect for beginners and to really experience the caves and beauty. We wanted to book another tour as soon as we finished!

Hands down the best way to see the rocks! They were awesome and contacted us the day before saying the weather looked better and asked if we wanted to adjust. We were so glad we did! The sun glistening off the rocks is magical. We had Calvin as our guide and he was outstanding.
Yeah, we are going to hike places to see it – but this is amazing. You gotta get out on the water. LOVED that we could even take a pee break and the boat was right there if needed.

Such a fun experience! Even though the water got choppy and we couldn’t venture into the caves, it was still a really awesome time. Our guide, Bobbie, was super laid back, and down to Earth. He was very knowledgeable and always made sure the group was together and doing okay. The captain was also very welcoming, and never once did I feel unsafe on the boat. I’m going to go back and hope there are better weather conditions so I can go in the caves! 10/10 highly recommend!! Don’t do the boat cruises, get in these kayaks and get right next to the Beautiful scenery!! You won’t regret it!!
This is a MUST-DO at Pictured Rocks!
This company is amazing! They are very professional and organized with a big focus on safety. The main boat stays close by the whole time, so if you need to go back to the main boat for any reason, you can. Our tour guide, James, was the best. He was fun and informative and safety-focused.
Also, don’t worry about kayaking FIVE miles. It’s not as hard as it sounds. You are in tandem boats and it’s really pretty easy. I thought it sounded like it would be pretty strenuous, but it really wasn’t. If you go to Pictured Rocks, this is a must-do. I will be recommending Pictured Rocks Kayaking to anyone I know who is visiting the area. Really an A+ company!
